Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge ~ April 18

Welcome back to Color Challenge Tuesday at the Outlaws. This week we have a wonderful sponsor.  Mary Smith at Createful Hearts Digis

For this weeks challenge, we are using a Tic Tac Toe board that design team sister Jeanie and I created.  We are to use any row either horizontal, diagonal, or vertical. However, there is a twist.  Along with the color, you have to use the embellishment as well.

I made this card for a friend for her birthday.  I used every color in the board because I mad my own back ground paper using the Stamping Up Gorgeous Grunge stamp.  A lot of my colors got covered up when I put my digi on, but you can see more of the back ground on the inside of the card as well.

My card has the diagonal line of Lace, Pearls and Bling, as well as the line for the Die Cut, Ribbon (on the inside) and bling line.   I went with the flat flowers because I didn't want to take anything away from the sentiment.

I love how the card turned out. More importantly, my friend loved how the card turned out

Through The Craft Room Door Challenge

Hello again,

Today I am back with a tag I made for the Through The Craft Room Door weekly challenge.  The weeks challenge (April 4 - April 10) is anything goes.  So, I decided to play along this week and make a pretty tag.

I made this tag by first creating the tag in my Silhouette software.  I then simply picked out some laces I thought would look good and glued them to the bottom of the tag.   I followed that up with a vintage picture beneath a brass from K & CO called Life's Journey.  I have had them for a while now and finally exited to use them.  The lace applique is one that I make for my store.   I finished off the tag by adding some Wild Orchid paper roses, and pearls that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.

I am fairly new to tag making, and would love any suggestions you might have.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Prize: 3 Digital Images

This week I decided to try something a little different than a card.  I have this fabulous little ballerina digital On Pointe, from Broken Fairy Designs.  This little dancer looks great on a tag.

I colored her using my Prisma colored pencils then I cut her out with my Cameo.  What would we do without our cameo's? I then embellished the tag using a Freestanding Lace heart from my store, scraps of lace, resin roses, and finally paper roses.  This lovely lady is right "On Point".

The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge

Hello Everyone, it is Tuesday, so you know that means I am back again with the Tuesday Color Challenge day at The Outlaws

The month of March we have the fabulous sponsor DigiStamps4Joy, who is offering a $10 prize to spend in their store.

This weeks challenge chosen by Cara, a beautiful inspirational picture with so many colors to chose from. Add to the colors is the beautiful architecture and the mosaic tiles.    It was so hard to chose which direction I wanted to go with this challenge.

You know it is hard to go with just one thing out of this awesome photos so I went a couple of ways.

I used the colors, but I also used the frame from the stained glass window. While it is hard to see in the picture, I have embossed the background of this first picture.  I thought it went well with the chevron print of the pink paper.   I then complete the card with a simple mounted sentiment.  Both the sentiment and the roses are popped up with pop dots.

While almost exactly like the first, I chose not to emboss the back ground on this card, and print the sentiment in the top right hand corner.

I hope you will join us at The Outlawz color challenge.  I know you will have fun!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I look forward to reading your comments. They inspire me to continue to grow in my crafts.

The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge

Hello Everyone, it is Tuesday, so you know what that means.  It is Tuesday Color Challenge day at The Outlaws

The month of March we have the fabulous sponsor DigiStamps4Joy, who is offering a $10 prize to spend in their store.

This weeks challenge chosen by Jacqui  and we needed to used 3 of the five fabulous colors in the photo.  Look at all of those colors.  It was so hard to chose just three.

This week I focused on the blues and oranges for my card.   I got a little more green in the paper than  had intended, but still have met the color challenges I do believe.  This is just s simple fold card, and then I added the image on just half the outside fold.

I finished off the card with some blue pearls on the outside and a stamped flourish on the inside.

I hope you will join us at The Outlawz color challenge.  I know you will have fun!

This weeks challenge Mary provided us this color scheme and asked us to use 3 of 5 colors, with a twist of adding a butterfly.   What great colors Mary, butterflies are a good sign that warmer weather is here.  At least it made us feel that way right?

I made a twisted easel card for this weeks challenge. This is the first time I have made a card such as this, and it was so much fun.  I was really surprised at just how fast and easy it was.

I was able to use all five  (or a shade)of the colors in the picture.   I found a tutorial on Google for the card. Like I said, it was really so easy to complete.

I started with the center floral piece.  I decided that, it was best left black and white.  I however, printed it on a sheet of music paper where I made it transparent.  it is the same paper as on the bottom part of my card, and the angled part of my card (just for comparison).  it is amazing what a single sheet of paper can do when you adjust the transparency, and pan the paper from one side to the other.

Once I put the card all together, It was time to add the embellishments.  This was easy for me. I simply needed to add a few roses and baby's breath.  I also decided the black pearls over some lace would be a nice touch.  To finish off the corner embellishments, I added an additional butterfly from my store.  T

Here is a picture of the entire card.   I really like how this card turned out.   I hope you are too.

I hope you will join us at The Outlawz color challenge.  I know you will have fun!

Wind In My Hair

Now, this week I have tried something a little bit different.  To be honest, I am still up in the air if I really love what I have done.  I Like it, but not sure I love it.  But then, something new  sometimes takes me a while.

Our challenge was to use ribbon on our creation.  So, I thought about what I wanted to do with this wonderful fairy with the wind blowing through her hair.

I used a silhouette of a fairy (reminds me of tinkerbell) and placed her at the bottom of my card. then I used a nested design from my silhouette and created a thought bubble.  Now, what I am to do about that ribbon we are supposed to use.  The card is already busy (which is why I think I might not love it) so how do I add ribbon.  A layer under the thought bubble.  I then thought small bows on each side, but scratched that idea, again, because it was to busy.  I settled for two flat back pink pearl, and then three small flowers on the bottom.  As I said, I like it, but not sure that I totally love it.

Outlawz Color Challenge

Outlawz Feb 28st Color Challenge!

WHAT DAY IS IT?? It's a new COLOR CHALLENGE day over at The Outlawz!  This month our wonderful sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps. I know you will find wonderful images you can use in your cards.

Prize: 5 Digital Stamps - Yay!

First, here is the photo we used as our inspiration for our work this week.  I love the soft earth tone colors of this one, and found so much I could do with the colors.  The added twist with the colors was to create with something for a wedding or anniversary.

I chose to do a wedding card and work as closely as I could with the colors.

I created a Gate Fold Card using an ivory base.  From there I used paper from GCD Studios called Ella Blue.  I found a lovely sentiment in the Silhouette Store for the front of my card.  I complemented the papers and sentiment with a golden diamond flourish, pearls, and roses.

I really like the finished product and hope you do too.

Thanks for stopping by today. I appreciate your comments.
